What Is Naya Pakistan Housing Programme?

As promised in his election campaign, PM Imran Khan has launched an affordable housing project for the deserving ones. The high property prices in the country make it impossible for middle and lower class to purchase the property and build the house. the newly launched Naya Pakistan Housing Programme, the government will construct 5 million affordable houses.

The government will construct these houses in five years for the people who earn between PKR 10,00 and PKR 25,00 per month.

The housing scheme is essentially categorized into three different classes such as labor class, lower class, and middle class. Down payment options will be offered from 10% to 25%.

The government hasn\’t disclosed the prices of units built under the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme. However, sources believe that banks are to provide home loan facilities on their terms and conditions. In such case, the customer can clear his payment in up to 20 years. Some media channels reported that the price of 2-marla and 4-marla units will fall in the range of PKR 8 lacs to 12 lacs.

Details on the pilot project

The project commencing from Islamabad will be for the employees of the Federal Government of Pakistan form Basic Scale (BS)-1 to BS-16. The project will be a joint venture between the private sector and the Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation.

Initially, the houses under the programme will be constructed in the following seven districts Islamabad, Faisalabad, Quetta, Muzaffarabad, Swat, and Sukkur.

To apply in this programme, you need to fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

  • Only one person per family is eligible to apply for the scheme. A family includes husband, wife, and children.
  • Candidates who do not own any independent residential unit in Pakistan will be given preference.
  • You can only apply for the programme if you earn between PKR 10,000 and PKR 25,000 per month.

You will also have to deposit a fee of PKR 250 along with this registration form when you submit it.

The application forms are available online, you can download it from NADRA\’s official website. You can fill the form and submit it in the selected DC offices along with the registration fee of PKR 250. The form is acceptable from 22nd October to 21st December.

Sukkur: DC Office, Sukkur.

Quetta: NADRA Registration Center, adjacent Helper Eye Hospital, Sariab Road, Quetta.

Muzaffarabad: DC Office, old secretariat, Muzaffarabad.

Swat: DC Office, District Court, Mingora, Swat.
