Lieutenant General Humayun Aziz has been appointed as Commander 5 Corps (Karachi). He replaced the Lt General Mirza Shahid Baig. Former corp Commander Karachi Lt. General Shahid Baig has appointed as Inspector General (IG) Communication and Information Technology ( C & IT) at GHQ.

Corp Commander Karachi also holds the position of President of Pakistan Defence Officers Housing Authority, Karachi.
